The museum goes from the build up of Belfast’s ship building cutler and follows through the building and eventual sinking of the Titanic.

The exhibits were pretty cool and we had the self guided audio players which we’d highly recommend. In any case, we made it to the museum and Elizabeth was able to geek out for around 2 hours. What I hadn’t been anticipating was the switch from kilometers per hour to miles per hour once over the border, and of course our rental car didn’t have the conversions on the speedometer like all our cars do in America. Unfortunately we ran into a bit of the rain we were promised from the leftovers of hurricane Lorenzo during the drive, so we weren’t able to see much of the countryside.

So the “surprise” for today was to visit the Titanic Belfast museum, which has been built on the exact site in the port where the Titanic and Olympic were built. You simply keep driving and you’re in the UK.Įlizabeth has a mild obsession with the Titanic and has seen the movie probably 50 times. Today’s plan was to drive up to Belfast, making the third Country of our trip the UK, which is a pretty weird experience considering there is no hard border between the two. We stayed up incredible late compared to how we felt after arriving back from Iceland and ended up sleeping in pretty late.
